“Life seems to go on without effort when I am filled with music.” – George Eliot
THE MILL ON THE FLOSS
FOR THE SOUL AND BEYOND
Music is a big part of my life. It fills my soul in the best of ways. Having grown up in a household filled with music, I learned at a young age to love all types. So much so that when you get in my car and go through my playlist it can change drastically from genre to genre. When Josh and I are on a road trip, my favorite game to play is going through my playlist to see if he can guess who the artist it, needless to say, he is really good at it, but I’ve stumped him a couple of times 😉
My relationship with music hasn’t always been the easiest. Growing up, even though household was often the center entertainment for all family gatherings that was filled with music, I was rarely ever at the advantage of buying CD’s/tapes, or watching MTV videos like most of my friends were, life at that time made it not plausible.
Now, I finally have the time and tools to explore what is out there, old and new! On a daily I am excited to find new/old artist. On this page I will be uploading music, I believe, is worthy of a click, and where YOU can also find it. I hope that you can find inspiration as I have. Enjoy!
Black Violin – this classically trained instrumentalists with a hip hop twist duo are a must click! We waited for what felt like 4-evaaah to see them live, and were fortunate enough to catch them live in Milwaukee earlier this past Winter (2019). You could not only see their love and passion for music, but feel it. And, a bonus plus, they are clear supporters for aspiring instrumentalists. They performed their last song with the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra, that is some serious class! Their performance was also accompanied by DJ SPS and drummer Nat Stokes which definitely added to the experience.

Lindsey Stirling – another fun one to watch! I love all her music, and got to see her perform during her Winter Wonderland tour. Definitely played her “Warmer in the Winter” album on repeat all Winter long. Check it out:
The Revivalists – One of my go to playlists. Lots of great songs! Among my favorites; “Wish I Knew You”, “Keep Going”, “It Was a Sin”, and “You and I”, just to name a few. Check them out on Spotify!
Cause all I wanna do is dance
I just wanna raise my hands
Raise ’em up to the sky
It’s just you and I…
